The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Al-Ma’louma, “Iraq has completed the draft security memorandum of understanding with Turkey, and it will be discussed with the Turkish side soon to agree on it in preparation for its signing.”
He added, "The memorandum includes all the outstanding issues, most notably security on the border between the two countries."
The coming period will witness the holding of intensive meetings at high levels between Iraq and Turkey, on various outstanding issues, whether security, economic or political.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to visit Baghdad after the holy month of Ramadan to discuss important files, including the development path, which Turkey is pressing to conclude an agreement on with Iraq to strengthen its economy, in addition to discussing security aspects.
