Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, ordered the operation of a project that has been suspended for 10 years to relieve congestion in the Al-Hurriya area in Baghdad.
A statement by the ministry received by "Al-Eqtisad News" stated that "the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, conducted a surprise inspection tour of the Al-Hurriya maintenance sector in Baghdad, at three o'clock in the morning. During the tour, he checked the state of equipment in the area, and inquired from the technical staff about the number of work teams present, and the nature of the malfunctions that occur in the area."
The statement added that "the Minister of Electricity also made a field tour in the alleys of freedom, during which he met a number of citizens who appreciated his interest in their suffering and his quick response to their appeals."
He added that "the Minister of Electricity visited the Al-Shifa station under construction, and directed to accelerate the stages of operating the box stations project, which has been stalled for (10) years, which will contribute to providing stable and sustainable supply hours."
The Minister of Electricity ordered "the inclusion of all neighborhoods in the Al-Hurriya area in the campaign to resolve bottlenecks and rehabilitate the electricity network currently underway in various areas of Baghdad and the governorates," stressing "the necessity of maintaining a state of full alert and intensifying the work teams assigned to maintenance work."
He explained that "the ministry provided all spare parts and equipment necessary to deal with emergency malfunctions immediately."
