Parliament hosts school books printing committee

The parliament has started its new legislative session to discuss the electricity files and the requirements for starting the new school year. The parliamentary education committee announced that it will host the book printing committee at the Ministry of Education, while the energy committee is moving to discuss the electricity supply file.
The head of the parliamentary education committee, Suad Al-Waeli, explained that "the committee is directly following up with the relevant committees in the ministry, in addition to holding several meetings with the Ministry of Education regarding book printing operations."
Al-Waeli added, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that there is "an agreement that the books will be delivered to schools before the start of the school year," indicating that "the primary grades have reached 100 percent supply rates, and what also concerns us are the preparatory stages, considering that they are advanced stages before college, and this hosting will be to follow up on
this matter."
Al-Waeli explained that "work is continuing to refer the books to the printing presses, according to the controls approved by the Council of Ministers, specifying the percentage of government and private printing presses, while upgrading the Nahrain Press with its effective role, and the ministry also has the largest role in printing books."
In the electricity file, member of the Parliamentary Energy Committee, Kamel Al-Akeili, told Al-Sabah: “The committee has begun collecting signatures to submit a request to interrogate or host the Minister of Electricity,” noting that “the hosting is related to the major failures witnessed by electricity projects.”
Al-Akeili explained that the minister, “as the person directly responsible for the Ministry of Electricity, is responsible for implementing the ministerial program that he pledged to the Prime Minister,” adding that “any failure to implement the program is the responsibility of the minister directly, in addition to the general managers.”
