Electronic window to update foreign workers' data

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has begun to create a unified electronic window under the supervision of the National Intelligence Service to update the database of foreign workers in the country.
The ministry’s spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, told Al-Sabah that his ministry launched a campaign to monitor the size of foreign workers and the actual need for them in private sector institutions and companies, in parallel with employing local workers in accordance with the law and based on the database of job seekers registered on the electronic professions platform.
He explained that large numbers of unlicensed and violating workers were discovered, and legal measures were taken against them and financial fines were imposed on the entities and companies that leak and employ violating foreign workers, noting that his ministry has set the specific age for work in the country at 21 to 40 years exclusively, with the exception of experts, consultants and technicians.
Al-Aqabi revealed that his ministry has begun taking steps to create a unified electronic window under the supervision of the National Intelligence Service, through which the database of foreign workers will be updated, violations will be noted, fines will be imposed directly on violators, and they will be deported, in addition to coordination and cooperation with the Companies Registration Department at the Ministry of Commerce, in addition to forming joint committees to monitor violating recruitment companies and refer them to the judiciary.
