[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Today's newspapers, Sunday, focused on the Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani's directive to the Baghdad Municipality and the governorates to settle all matters related to school building projects and the Journalists Syndicate's invitation to colleagues who have not received their MasterCards to review them within a week.
Regarding school building projects, Al-Zawraa newspaper, issued by the Journalists Syndicate, said that the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, directed the Baghdad Municipality and the governorates to settle all matters related to school building projects.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: "The Prime Minister chaired the second meeting of the Higher Committee for Building Model Schools, where the implementation and completion stages were followed up and reviewed, within a comprehensive position on school buildings in all governorates."
According to the statement, the Prime Minister reviewed "the completed school buildings, which numbered 437 school buildings since the beginning of this year, out of the total number of the project that includes building 1,000 schools in various governorates, while the remaining number will be completed during the remaining months of this year."
He stressed that "the government has made significant strides in the education file, whether in terms of preparing staff, providing furniture and school supplies, or providing infrastructure and school buildings, and work is being carried out in parallel on this file, through the Iraq Development Fund projects, the Chinese schools project, or the number one project for school buildings."
The Prime Minister directed "the removal of administrative and procedural obstacles to completing school building projects, and that the Baghdad Municipality and all governorates resolve all matters related to the operation of new schools, whether related to the roads leading to them, or water and electricity supplies. He also directed that a committee meeting be held next November to review what has been accomplished in this basic service file."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed the service and engineering effort team to target complementary and emergency projects, while stressing the identification of suitable lands for the construction of school buildings.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office received by Al-Zawraa stated: "The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Service and Engineering Effort Team, where the implementation of complementary and emergency projects in Baghdad and the governorates for the year 2024 was followed up, in addition to reviewing the general framework plan for the team's projects during the year 2025."
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of the team targeting projects that do not fall within the work of ministries, governorates or municipal departments, in order to overcome costs and avoid overlapping tasks between executive bodies."
The Prime Minister directed "to identify suitable lands for the construction of school buildings, complete the original approvals and transfer them to the Iraq Development Fund, to complete them according to the approved mechanisms and shorten time and effort." He pointed out "the importance of targeting main roads, water projects and infrastructure, with the best guidance, and in the path of achieving the best benefits within the approved allocations, within the framework of seeking to achieve the service that the citizen feels, and constitutes a priority in his needs and daily use."
In addition, the Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received Salah al-Din Governor Badr Mahmoud Fahal, and was briefed on the nature of the progress of service and development projects, and their implementation mechanisms, in order to achieve all the requirements for their completion, and to provide basic services to citizens, in fulfillment of the government's pledges in its government program and its basic priorities.
The Prime Minister stressed that Salah al-Din Governorate was among the first governorates he visited after assuming his executive duties as Prime Minister, and it requires double efforts and work to complete major projects in the governorate, in a way that helps improve its service and economic reality.
The newspaper also focused on the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate's invitation to colleagues who have not yet received their MasterCard for the grant to review it within a week.
A statement issued by the Syndicate stated that: "Colleagues who have not yet received their MasterCard should review the Syndicate to receive it," stressing that "the delivery is without the alphabetical table and within one week only."
The union stressed in its statement that “the review is for the concerned party exclusively, or for those who have agencies certified by notaries public, bringing with them the original union identity + the unified card + the receipt of the application upon submission, otherwise the MasterCard will not be delivered.”
Al-Sabah newspaper focused on the preparations for the Arbaeen visit and said that more than 13,000 processions in the holy city of Karbala and the governorates were mobilized to provide services to visitors and arrivals in light of their increasing numbers, at a time when the Ministry of Electricity completed lighting the roads they take.
The governor of Karbala, Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi, told the newspaper: “There are more than 13,000 processions and four thousand sanitation workers participating in providing services.
He pointed out the launch of the Imam Hussein (PBUH) Visitor application, which includes 750 reference sites such as hotels, locations of health teams, roads, Husseiniyas, and restaurants according to updated maps.
In the same context, the media official of the Kufa Mosque Secretariat, Waqas Al-Fatlawi, stated: “It is customary annually for visitors to go to the Kufa Mosque to pray in the prayer niche of the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH) and visit the shrine of Muslim bin Aqeel (PBUH), then head to Najaf to visit the holy shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), after which the journey begins from Najaf to Karbala.
He explained that the mosque secretariat prepared for the visit by shading the external roads surrounding the mosque, and its host doubled the number of meals from 25,000 to 50,000 daily, with the distribution of water, food, and financial aid among the processions.
In turn, the Director of the Red Crescent Society in Karbala, Falah Muhammad Redha, pointed out that a field operations room was formed that includes more than two thousand paramedics.
Al-Zaman newspaper was interested in the Ministry of Health confirming that no cases of monkeypox have been recorded so far, and
the ministry indicated that the situation is under control thanks to the preventive measures and decisive measures taken to confront any potential epidemic challenges.
The ministry’s spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, told the newspaper that the health teams are continuing their intensive efforts to ensure the protection of society and enhance the effective response to any potential developments,
adding that (the ministry has the ability to deal with this disease and other epidemic cases).
He added that (the Ministry of Health continues to cooperate with the World Health Organization to follow up on developments related to this disease or another epidemic challenge), stressing that (the ministry is working hard to maintain everyone's safety),
and Al-Badr called for (following the recommended preventive measures and reporting any abnormal symptoms that may suddenly appear).
For its part, the African Union Health Agency announced that a total of about 19 possible or confirmed cases of monkeypox have been recorded since the beginning of the year, including 1,200 cases in one week.
The census issued by the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which explained that (many virus mutations have been identified, there are 3,101 confirmed cases, 15,636 probable cases and 541 deaths reported in 12 countries on the continent), added
that (a greater number of cases have been recorded since the beginning of 2024 than in the whole of 2023 (14,838), noting that (the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is the epicenter of the epidemic, has witnessed almost all the recorded cases with 16,800 probable or confirmed cases, and more than 500 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of this year), adding
(as for Burundi, which borders the Republic of the Congo, it has recorded 173 cases, including 39 confirmed cases and 134 probable cases, an increase of 75 percent in one week).
Africa is facing the spread of a new strain of monkeypox discovered in Congo in September 2023, dubbed Clyde IB, which is more deadly and more contagious than previous strains. The first cases of monkeypox outside Africa were also recorded this week, in Sweden and Pakistan./End[/rtl]
