    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Political researcher Aid Al-Hilali confirmed today, Friday (August 23, 2024), that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani is being subjected to great pressures in order to limit him for fear of his political and electoral rise.
Al-Hilali told Baghdad Today, "For some time now, Al-Sudani has been exposed to great pressure, sometimes through clear statements by influential figures in the political scene, and other times through the fabrication of crises and marketing them as a flaw in his policy or a shortcoming in the government program and that he is focusing on unimportant aspects and ignoring other more important aspects."
He added: "However, the falsity of these actions has been exposed by the simple Iraqi citizen who was spoiled by the experiences of the past years, so he began to distinguish between the good and the bad and took it upon himself to confront such practices, which we believe and everyone believes could threaten societal peace and political and security stability."
He pointed out to "the state of increasing economic growth through development programs and large strategic projects that were agreed upon with large international companies, and the government also succeeded in the strategy of productive diplomacy and resolved problems and crises that had been pending for many years. During this period, Iraq was transformed into an attractive environment for investment at all levels, including energy, housing, infrastructure, and strategic projects with a great and far-reaching impact."
He explained that "regarding the 'files' that some are threatening to open, we say that whoever tries again to exploit the weak points, which are certainly accumulated from the past, will clash with the government's calm and balance in how to deal with these files," noting: "They tried to stir up crises in Nasiriyah, Samawah and Diwaniyah, but the government's professional and paternal response prevented them from rolling into what was planned, and the treatments were carried out with great skill."
The political researcher continued, "There are a few parties that are worried about Al-Sudani's rise, and they are identified and known and exclusively from within the Coordination Framework, but the process of limiting Al-Sudani's rise has become very difficult because they do not have the papers that they had and threatened the heads of previous governments with, because they agreed from the beginning that the current prime minister has a highly professional record and is also free of corruption, and if they were able to find what would help them get him, I believe that they would hasten and not delay, but they have clashed in more than one experience with the strength and cohesion of the government, which has become acceptable to very large segments of Iraqi society, in addition to the satisfaction of the regional and international surroundings, and it has begun to integrate very quickly into all international forums."
