    Baghdad Today - Anbar
    A security source revealed, today, Saturday (August 24, 2024), military movements of American forces on the border strip between Iraq and Jordan.
    The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "intensive movements were carried out by American forces on the border strip between Iraq and Jordan from the direction of Trebil in Anbar Governorate."
    He added, "Military convoys have been moving in that area for two days, while American aircraft are conducting air reconnaissance over the Anbar desert, Trebil, Al-Waleed and Rutba areas."
    Informed sources revealed on Friday (August 16, 2024) that the Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq is conducting unannounced training on confronting a comprehensive attack with missiles and drones.
    The sources told Baghdad Today, "Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq, in the most important parts of which American forces are deployed, has been conducting a series of training exercises for days, in an unannounced manner, on how to launch a comprehensive attack with missiles and drones."
    She added that "the training comes as a precautionary measure, especially since its defenses have failed more than once to confront missiles and drones launched by Iraqi factions, which in the last attack led to the injury of five to seven soldiers, although only two missiles were launched out of 10 that were defused by Iraqi forces."
    The sources indicated that "the American forces in Ain al-Assad still believe that they may be exposed to a wide and comprehensive attack, and this explains the intensity of the air strikes between them and other bases in Syria, amid reports of bringing in new air defense systems capable of more effectively confronting drones and missiles."
