    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Minister of Transport, Hadi al-Amiri, discussed the political and the security situation in Iraq.
    A statement by Nijaifi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Nijaifi received Amiri at his office in Baghdad on Sunday.”
    “Both sides discussed the situation in the country especially the repeated bombings in Baghdad and the security deterioration in Diyala province,” the statement added.
    “They stressed the necessity of the security forces’ role in sustaining security in addition to enhancing the social and cultural balance in the province,” the statement continued.
    “Both sides agreed upon the necessity of reducing the tensions during this exceptional time that Iraq undergoes currently,” the statement concluded.
