    Kuwaiti naval forces released six Iraqi fishermen they had detained in Khor Abdullah.
    "A Kuwaiti naval patrol intercepted a fishing boat carrying the Iraqi flag in Khor Abdullah and detained the six fishermen on board," a source told Mawazin News on Friday.
    He added that "the Kuwaiti navy then handed over Iraqi fishermen with their boat after the intervention of the Iraqi naval forces."

    Release Iraqi fishermen detained by the Kuwaiti authorities

    BASRA, April 14 (UPI) - Emad al-Eidani, assistant director of the governor's office in Basra, released six Kuwaiti fishermen who were being held by the Kuwaiti authorities.
    Al-Eidani said in a statement to the media that "based on the guidance of the governor of Basra, Majid Nasrawi, the Iraqi naval force command, after intensive efforts and in coordination with the Kuwaiti side of their naval leadership to release the six Iraqi fishermen with their lengthening.
    The security committee in the Basra provincial council, revealed earlier on Thursday, the arrest of seven Iraqi fishermen by the Kuwaiti naval patrols in the waters of Khor Abdullah.
    The deputy head of the security committee in the Basra provincial council Ghanem Hamid al-Mayahi said in an interview that "the deluge called (dawn) and No. (1029) was arrested with his entire crew of seven fishermen while practicing fishing in the waters of Khor Abdullah, Al-Hayat reported that there were negotiations with the Kuwaiti side.
