[ltr][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The parliamentary legal committee on Wednesday unveiled the possibility of voting on the candidates of the electoral commission next week on the signing of a political agreement to increase the number of representatives of political entities by adding representatives of the Turkmen and Christian component.
Committee member Hassan Tauran said in a press statement, "The next week will see the resolution of the appointment of members of the new election commission after the agreement of the political blocs."
He added that "the heads of political blocs agreed to resolve the file through the file by increasing the number of seats allocated to the Board of Commissioners from 9 people to 11 and the nomination of a Christian representative and Turkmen in the two additional seats."
He said Turan, "The coming days will witness a meeting between the heads of political blocs in order to nominate candidates and agree on names to be presented to the House of Representatives and vote on it." (1)
