Italian police dismantled an international network of drug trafficking between Morocco and Italy, led by Moroccans, has conducted large drug smuggling between the two countries.
A Moroccan media source said Italian police arrested eight Moroccans accused of promoting international drug trafficking and violating weapons legislation after police seized a sophisticated arsenal.
Italian police said the investigation, which began in November 2013, which documented many drug transfers between Morocco and Italy by members of the network, especially cocaine and hashish, led to the arrest of eight people.
During the raid on their headquarters in Lecce, Italian police detained a rifle, semi-automatic pistols, a voice recorder and a 12-millimeter hunting rifle, as well as about 200 cartridges of different caliber and lighters.
