(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Industry Minister Saleh Abdullah al-Jubouri assured Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the need to open the electronic portal for mineral wealth in the Arab world.
"The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Saleh Abdullah al-Jubouri, met in Cairo on Monday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the sidelines of the opening of the Arab Conference of the Metal Revolution and the industrial exhibition which is part of its activities," a statement from his office said.
He added that "the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and Egypt in the industry and mining."
During the meeting, Jubouri called for "the necessity of applying the idea of opening the portal of mineral wealth in the Arab world to increase the horizons of investment in mining."
"There are serious efforts by all participants in the conference to develop the investment sector in the field of mining and industry," Jubouri said on the sidelines of his participation in the seventh Arab Conference on Mineral Resources held in Cairo for the period from 26 to 28 November.
He added that "the support is to open the best investment methods in mining, especially minerals used in renewable energy," pointing to "Iraq's selection as a member in the final drafting of the recommendations of the conference, which is hosted by Cairo for the second time after hosting the session of 1999." The meeting, under the theme of "Mining Investment and Economic Development in the Arab World", aims to study how to protect the common interests of Arab brothers in the field of mining under the chairmanship of Tariq al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, and a number of Arab ministers. is over
