    "The Jordanian-Iraqi company owns a land for the establishment of a free zone," Hamrawi said at the Jordanian-Iraqi Parliamentary Conference, which began on Wednesday in Amman under the slogan "Towards Broad Prospects for Economic Integration."

    The Minister of Trade and Industry Tariq al-Hammouri said that his country will sign with Iraq at the end of this month the agreement for the development plan of the joint free zone between the two countries.
    "The Jordanian-Iraqi Company owns a land for the establishment of a free zone," Hamrawi said at the Jordanian-Iraqi Parliamentary Conference, which kicked off Wednesday in Amman under the slogan "Towards Broad Prospects for Economic Integration."

    The member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Falah Khafaji that the benefit will be for the parties, calling for the need to implement the agreement between the two countries quickly.
    Economic relations have gained momentum recently as the two sides announce a new partnership package to promote strategic cooperation and comprehensive integration in most sectors after they have become the focus of their ambitions to emerge from the economic crises they have suffered for years. 
    "The forum will discuss several axes in various sectors to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the political and economic aspects," the German news agency quoted the head of the economic committee in the Jordanian parliament as saying. 
    He explained that the joint economic zone will not only serve the factories and the population of Jordan and Iraq, but targets one billion consumers in the world who will benefit from trade in them.
    The newly opened Al Karama-Trebil crossing is a key artery for the revitalization of the economic movement as countries seek to develop trade and facilitate both-way traffic. The figures show that the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to about 1.4 billion dollars annually.
