Baghdad / Obelisk: Calls are renewed to Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani to expedite sending the draft financial budget law for the year 2023 before the end of this year.
And while sources talk to Al-Masalla about the disagreement between Baghdad and Erbil over the draft budget, which may hinder its approval, they confirm at the same time that a political paper was agreed upon by some blocs and parties as a starting point for approving the budget.
Al-Sudani formed a committee to prepare the budget as soon as possible and send it to the House of Representatives, where it is sent to the House of Representatives for reading and then voting on it.
The size of the federal general budget for the year 2021 is more than 101 trillion dinars, and the oil price was estimated at $45 per barrel.
Finance Minister Taif Sami said in a statement that the approval of the budget bill for next year will take place before the end of this year.
Political analyst Nabil Jabbar Al-Tamimi explained to Al-Masalla that the Sudanese government is seeking to change several matters in the upcoming budget 2023, which is adding the National Development Fund by deducting part of the oil revenues in favor of this fund, which is expected to be around $5 billion or 5 trillion dinars.
Al-Tamimi considered that what distinguishes the fund is its exclusion from the hands of state institutions and government ministries, which is a private sector financing tool to implement development projects (government-oriented) as an alternative to external borrowing.
And he went on: What can be expected from differences over the next budget is the desire of the political blocs to increase allocations for the establishment of new projects for one goal, which is to conduct new contracts and obtain commissions from companies.
He said that the size of the next budget is not less than 140 trillion, at a price of a barrel of oil planned at 75 dollars.
Al-Sudani relied on the establishment of the Iraqi Development Fund as an important paragraph in the budget law. It is funded by deducting a percentage of oil revenues, considering that it will be the arm that will eliminate corruption.
