    Professor of Economics at the University of Basra, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, predicted, on Tuesday, the exchange rate of the dollar that will be approved in the 2023 budget.
    Al-Marsoumi said in a post, “I do not know the size of Iraq’s budget for the year 2023, and I do not know the level of deficit in it; But what I know well, away from the media clamor, is that it will keep the current exchange rate for the Iraqi dinar, and that the Iraqi parliament will vote on it in the end as it is!!!
    Earlier, the Ministerial Council of Economy directed the completion of the draft law of the state's general budget in order to vote on it in the Council of Ministers and then submit it to the Iraqi Parliament for approval of the draft law.
    The council said in a statement, “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired the third meeting of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Ministers of Finance, Trade, Industry, Agriculture, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and the Chairman of the National Commission.” For investment, an agency and advisors to the Prime Minister for economic and legal affairs.
    He added, “The council discussed the economic issues on its agenda. He also discussed the importance of developing a comprehensive economic strategy that includes the development of the industrial, agricultural, commercial and investment sectors.
    And he continued, “At the end of the meeting, the Speaker of the Council instructed to complete the draft law of the state’s general budget in order to vote on it in the Council of Ministers, and then submit it to the Iraqi Parliament for approval of the draft law.”
