Shafaq News / Jordan announced, on Thursday, that Iraq has fallen to fourth place as the largest importer of Amman's industry during the first quarter of the current year 2023.

The Amman-Jordanian Chamber of Industry said in a report seen by Shafaq News Agency, "The Chamber's exports to countries of the world during the first quarter of this year 2023 amounted to 1.814 billion Jordanian dinars, compared to 1.646 billion dinars for the same period last year."
She added that "the exports of Jordanian industry products, which are spread in most regions of the Kingdom, reach more than 142 markets around the world due to the export of 1,400 various commodities."
She indicated that "India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and Iraq acquired the majority of the Amman Chamber of Industry's exports, recording a value of 993 million Jordanian dinars," noting that "India came first in imports from Jordan with an amount of 321 million dinars, followed by the United States of America with an amount of 280 million dinars." Followed by Saudi Arabia, third, with 203 million dinars, then Iraq, which fell one place to occupy fourth place, with a value of 189 million Jordanian dinars (equivalent to about 270 million US dollars).
She pointed out that "the Arab countries came first in the Chamber's exports to it, with a value of 722 million dinars, while the non-Arab Asian countries came with 602 million dinars, and the African countries came with about 12 million dinars, and North America with 296 million dinars."
And she explained that "the Chamber's exports during the past two months of the current year 2023 were distributed to the mining, chemical, cosmetic, engineering, electrical and information technology sectors, in addition to the exports of the catering, food, agricultural, livestock and therapeutic industries, medical and leather supplies, and other industries."
It is noteworthy that Iraq imports most goods and commodities from neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran, after Jordan was a big market for Iraq in the nineties of the last century during the period of economic blockade on Iraq.
