Today, Monday, the Minister of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government confirmed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Iraq to discuss the issue of exporting Kurdistan's oil, stressing that his ministry signed a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and SOMO Company to resume Kurdistan's oil exports.
Kamal Muhammad Salih, Acting Minister of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan government, said in a press statement, "The Kurdistan government signed a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil as well as the SOMO company to resume exporting Kurdistan's oil, and this issue will be resolved at a high level between the Turkish and Iraqi sides, during the Turkish president's visit to Iraq".
The Minister of Natural Resources, Kamal Muhammad, added that "70% of the draft oil and gas law has been completed, and that the Kurdistan government delegation will visit Baghdad soon for this purpose."
On May 11, Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced that they had informed the Turkish authorities of the resumption of Kurdistan's oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan on May 13, 2023.

On March 25, 2023, the export of Kurdistan and Kirkuk oil was suspended tomorrow, after the decision of the International Arbitration Court in Paris, on April 4, 2023, after which the head of the federal government, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and the head of the Kurdistan government, Masrour Barzani, signed an agreement in Baghdad to resume the export of Kurdistan oil.
