    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:

The US State Department confirmed that the United States is looking forward to "normal bilateral relations" between Baghdad and Tehran, "in which Iraq's sovereignty is respected."

"We hope that their bilateral relations will continue in a way that respects Iraq's sovereignty," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, in an interview.

The envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jeanine Plasschaert, visited Iran, and met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian to "ensure Iraq's support," according to the United Nations Mission (UNAMI).

On relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the US State Department spokesperson urged Erbil and Baghdad again to "agree on the basis of common interests."

In this context, Matthew Miller said: "We will continue to urge the parties to find a solution that benefits the foreign investment environment in Iraq, and respects the important participation of American companies."[/rtl]
