Committee member Kazem Al-Touki told Al-Furat News: “Preparations are now being made for the sixth licensing round in the Ministry of Oil, and entry into it will be through tenders.”
He added, "The committee will participate in following up on it and working to ensure that its preparation is transparent by following up on the contracts, monthly dues, and financial governorate dues that will be submitted by the companies and allocated by the ministry."
Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced the launch of the sixth licensing round for (11) promising gas exploration blocks in a number of governorates.
The sixth licensing round, which was promoted more than 3 months ago, includes gas investment in 11 gas exploration blocks and three promising oil exploration blocks, most of which focus on the western borders of Iraq, starting with the Syrian-Jordanian and Saudi borders and ending in the Samawah and Diwaniyah governorates.
