    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The escalation of tension within the Iraqi parliament is clearly evident through the statements of representatives and political analysts, as different voices begin to struggle to determine the course of the political scene in the country.
    In the context of this tension, Representative Faleh Al-Khazali stressed the continuation of the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives under the leadership of Al-Mandalawi until the end of the current session, pointing to the desire of the political forces, especially the Shiites, for him to continue in this position.
    In his statements, Al-Khazali warned the Sunni political forces that failed to legislate the law to remove American forces from Iraq against trying to think about assuming the presidency of the Council, noting that they would face strong resistance if they tried to do so, just as they did when they broke the voting quorum for the session to remove American forces.
    At the level of political analysis, Hussein Palestine indicated that the best scenario that might be a solution to the outstanding issues is for the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament to remain as interim President of the Council.
    He explained that this proposal was agreed upon among the political forces, and now enjoys the support of independent representatives, which reflects the magnitude of the challenges facing the Iraqi parliament at the present time.
