    Economy News - Baghdad
The Director of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Engineer Farhan Al-Fartusi, announced today, Wednesday, the beginning of the work of installing the longitudinal supports in Intersection No. (1) of the Ports Road, which is the number one section on the development road.
The company's general manager said, in a statement received by Al-Eqtisadi News, that "works on the road linking Al-Faw Port and Umm Qasr, one of the major Al-Faw Port projects, are proceeding according to plan, with advanced completion rates being achieved."
He explained that "the executing company's cadres began the work of installing the longitudinal supports in section No. (1) of the port road after the submerged tunnel, which is section number one on the development road."
It is noteworthy that the link road project, whose length is estimated at 62 kilometers, connects Al-Faw Port to Bam Qasr through a submerged tunnel, which is one of the main pillars of the Grand Al-Faw Port Project, as it is considered the most important link between the two port projects and the development road.
