Minister of Trade Atheer Al-Ghurairi said: Iraq has achieved food security and was able to exit the list of countries with the most price inflation in the world. Despite the increase in prices during the month of Ramadan, Iraq did not suffer from price inflation. Al-Ghurairi explained, in an interview with “Al-Sabah,” that “the Ministry’s Finance Committee and its advanced staff discussed the government program, the wheat marketing allocations and the commitment to renew to deliver the farmers their entitlements, and these amounts were transferred to the Ministry’s account, as we will begin delivering first-hand.” Al-Ghurairi added, “The Ministry We are waiting for the opening of marketing centers in the central and southern governorates, starting with Samawah, with the continued financing of the food basket, and we can say that the country has achieved food security by providing various foodstuffs for the ration card and strategic storage of wheat, as we consider our position to be beyond good, and we are on the cusp of the largest marketing season. In the country's history," and regarding price inflation, he said: "Iraq came out of the list of the most inflationary countries around the world, despite the increase during Ramadan and the increase in demand during the Eid season, but food supplies were pumped to the markets while marketing societies were provided in the governorates to sell the materials at prices.” Competitive price from the Ministry’s warehouses, which are filled with strategic stores of wheat as well as food basket materials,” indicating that “the ration card will be launched again in five governorates as a start, and there is an improvement in the service provided, provided that it witnesses development during the first phase in all governorates of the country.”
