    The Najaf Chamber of Commerce participates in international and Arab exhibitions specializing in commercial agencies, construction, food and medicine production, in an effort to activate the commercial and industrial sectors.
    The head of the Najaf Chamber of Commerce, Haider Al-Athari, told Al-Sabah that the chamber is keen on the participation of the largest possible number of Najaf traders, businessmen and investors in commercial and industrial exhibitions held in Arab and foreign countries, by responding to invitations received from commercial institutions and facilitating procedures for those wishing to participate and benefit from these exhibitions. He explained that the chamber recently received an invitation from the Iraqi-British Business Council to participate in two exhibitions, the first for European commercial agencies, which will be held in London next September, with the participation of manufacturers, retailers, distributors and marketers of the largest group of brands in Europe. The second exhibition is the Construction Week, which will be held in the British city of Birmingham early next October, and is considered one of the largest construction and building exhibitions in Britain. He pointed out that the Chamber is also preparing to participate in the International Exhibition for Metal Industries and Metal Processing Technology, which will be hosted by the German city of Stuttgart next September, with the participation of more than 1,200 companies specialized in metal production line machines and systems, through the invitation extended to the Chamber by the Iraqi General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services. He added that in terms of cooperation with Arab countries, the Chamber will participate in the Iraqi-Egyptian Forum, which the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce is preparing to hold next September, with the participation of more than 100 Egyptian companies specialized in food and medicine production. Al-Athari noted that the goal of these activities is joint cooperation, exchange of expertise, and research of investment opportunities in commercial and industrial fields and identifying available opportunities in foreign markets, noting that these activities lead to the conclusion of strategic partnerships with Arab and foreign companies that enhance the capabilities of Iraqi companies and link Iraqi industry with foreign trade to develop and advance it in a way that serves this sector and enhances its role in economic development.
