The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in Iraq, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced today, Wednesday, the expansion of the scope of social care to new categories, including people with disabilities, special needs, and diabetics, with the approval of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
The Ministry of Labor explained in a statement received by Mawazine News that Minister Al-Asadi received a delegation of demonstrators from Dhi Qar Governorate, where the meeting discussed the challenges facing the people of Dhi Qar and other governorates due to the lack of basic services. Al-Asadi stressed the government's response to requests to expand social protection coverage for a new number of poor families.
In another context, the minister pledged to work hard with the Ministry of Finance and the House of Representatives to allocate the necessary funding for these categories in the coming weeks and months, stressing the importance of continuous communication and direct support from the Prime Minister to ensure the effective implementation of these procedures.
