    Economy News - Baghdad
Syrian Minister of Tourism, Mohammad Rami Martini, stated that his country is witnessing the return of Arab tourists this year, especially from Iraq, and also from Jordan, who come in organized tourist groups, in addition to the Lebanese coming to Syria.
The Syrian newspaper Al-Watan, in its issue published today, Sunday, quoted the minister as saying: This year we are witnessing thousands of Arab brothers and brothers from neighboring countries, as well as a remarkable arrival of expatriates.
Martini pointed out that the numbers of Arab tourism are developing and we have a lot of optimism about the Arab arrival, and the greatest optimism is the arrival of the Syrian expatriate who contributes with what he spends to development, treasury payments, employment of the workforce, and operation of these projects.
In March 2024, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Yassin Sharif Al-Hajimi, announced "reducing visa fees for Iraqis coming to Syria for the purpose of tourism, religious visits, or medical treatment from $80 to $50, for a one-month stay, with the same instructions, as they are obtained from Damascus Airport or land ports."
