6 convicted of organising an international drug smuggling network sentenced to death

The Central Criminal Court issued a death sentence yesterday, Tuesday, against six convicts who formed an international network specialized in drug smuggling for the purpose of promoting and selling them in Iraq.
The Judicial Council stated in a statement that "the convicts were found in possession of (30) kilograms of crystal narcotics with the intention of transporting and promoting them inside Iraq, in addition to transporting them to the Gulf States."
He added that "the ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017 and in accordance with Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Penal Code.
In Diyala, a criminal court issued various rulings against drug dealers for the crime of drug trafficking.
Three kilograms of crystal meth were seized in the possession of two convicts for the purpose of trafficking and selling it among users.
The Diyala Criminal Court issued another ruling of eight years in prison against a drug dealer who was caught in possession of 21 bags of crystal meth.
In Maysan, two drug dealers, a woman and a man, were arrested riding a saloon bike. The woman was found in possession of a medium-sized bag of crystal meth that was hidden inside a woman's bag.
