Shafaq News/ An informed source reported that the Popular Mobilization Forces withdrew from the "Al-Sayed" area after taking control of it temporarily on Sunday morning, to establish security in it in preparation for the entry of oil companies to work in an oil well in the area located on the border with the Kurdistan Region.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "The site that the Popular Mobilization Forces took control of in the village of Al-Sayed on the outskirts of Qara Tapa district, northeast of Diyala, includes an oil well and is part of the federal government's licensing rounds. It is the responsibility of the Popular Mobilization Forces to establish security and comb the area before companies enter to work in the oil site."
He added, "The Popular Mobilization Forces surveyed the area and have now withdrawn, while they will redeploy and set up points during the coming period in preparation for investing in the well by the foreign companies to which it was granted."
Meanwhile, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed that the Popular Mobilization Forces withdrew from the borders of the Peshmerga forces' areas of influence this morning within the borders of the administration of the independent Karmian region affiliated with the Kurdistan Region.
The official spokesman for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Saadi Ahmed Pira, said in a statement to Shafaq News Agency, that the Popular Mobilization Forces came for a short time and were informed by the Peshmerga forces affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan that those areas do not belong to them and they are not allowed to stay, and this requires leaving the place, adding that the Popular Mobilization Forces have actually left the place.
