[rtl]ISTANBUL / NINA / Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Oraloğlu said that the Development Road Project with Iraq is of high strategic importance not only for Turkey and Iraq, but also for the entire region. Oraloğlu
added in a press statement: The project, with the participation of other friendly countries, will enhance regional cooperation and humanitarian relations and develop trade via a new Silk Road in the region.
The minister pointed out that Turkey and Iraq have clearly demonstrated their determination to work together to implement the development project extending from Basra to the Turkish border and that Turkey's location facilitates access to new opportunities within the framework of the goal of diversifying routes.
Baghdad witnessed yesterday, Thursday, the second meeting of the Quadrilateral Ministerial Council on the Development Road Project with the participation of Turkish Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Oraloğlu, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Qatari Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis.
It is noteworthy that Turkey, Iraq, Qatar and the UAE signed a quadrilateral memorandum of understanding for cooperation on the "Development Road" project on April 22, under the auspices of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
