Second deputy governor of Dhi Qar Mohammed Alsoala revealed Thursday the formation of a joint committee chaired by the Department to maintain an environment to determine the environmental and health impact of the development works in the oil Gharraf field by Petronas of Malaysia on adjacent residential areas of the field after receiving numerous complaints popular and governmental registration of new different satisfactory injuries among citizens.
He Alsoala after a meeting of the Council to protect and improve the environment with the participation of all concerned departments that the new committee will follow up on those negative health effects in areas Rifai and the castle and the victory and dawn and submitting a detailed report to the Council to protect and improve the environment in order to make decisions and described the seriousness of this trend.
He added that the Council rejects any effects or health or environmental repercussions in these areas as a result of petroleum activities, which require more work in protecting and improving the environment and maintaining the health of residents.
