The Senate and House of Representatives have called on technology giants Google, Facebook and Twitter to testify as part of their investigation into Russia's intervention in the 2016 US presidential election.
The Senate Intelligence Committee said it had summoned the officials of the three companies to appear before a public hearing on November 1.
The committee is investigating whether Russia has used any of these social networks to influence the presidential election won by Donald Trump.
The House Intelligence Committee, which is conducting a similar investigation, said it had summoned corporate officials to testify.
Last week, Facebook agreed, under pressure, to provide Congress with the content of messages of a political nature funded by Russian interests by buying advertising space on the social networking site.
