    - An official in Basra's government warned Saturday of the explosion of protests in the province, while the local government's government has demanded that the center be given more powers. 

    The official said in a statement followed by Alsumaria News, that "there is an intention to demand the federal authorities more powers to maintain oil-producing, beyond the powers granted to other provinces as the economic and geographical privacy of the country."




    He added that "there is coordination with the representatives of Basra in the parliament to move in this direction," pointing out that "the Iraqi constitution and the law of the provinces are not organized in the territory, giving the provinces a lot of powers monopolized by the federal ministries." 

    "There is a big discontent in Basra politically and popularly, because of the negligence that is being exposed to it, and there are signs of the outbreak of protests again if the government did not provide in Baghdad to do something about the file of services and worsening poverty in the province," adding that "this plan to withdraw additional troops from the province Which was sent to it last September after the outbreak of violence in it. "

    He added that "Basra will demand additional funds in the budget of 2019, and projects, and appointments to its population, as well as the claim to give a political role, although relatively locally and regionally, especially as it represents an important corridor towards Kuwait and Iran," adding that "there is a tendency to open more consulates and The province, similar to what is happening in the Kurdistan region, and not only the current consulates of Iran and the United States only. " 

    The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan al-Kaabi, on the fourth of November, to include the "full rights" of the province of Basra in the budget of 2019, pointing to the importance of revitalizing the investment side and benefit from the ports of border provinces.
