Allawi nominated a former army officer and defense minister after the failure of the vote on Jarba
Political sources said that the head of [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/2019/%D8%A7%D8%A6%D8%AA%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%81 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D8%B7%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9]the National Coalition,[/url] Dr. [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1430/%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AF %D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%8A]Iyad Allawi,[/url] presented a new candidate for the post of Defense Minister Major General Mohammed Rajab Abdul Majeed al-Ani after the failure of the vote on Faisal Jarba.
The sources said that al-Ani had been agreed upon by all members of the coalition for his competence and professionalism in military action.
Major General Mohammad Rajab, a graduate of the Iraqi Military College, was a member of the Special Forces category and one of the first officers in the free parachute jump.
Al-Ani left [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the late 1980s and settled in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] He returned after 2003 and worked in the intelligence service with the team of Mohammed Abdullah al-Shahwani, who is now retired as a general and is now a director at Zain.
Al-Ani's father is Rajab Abdul Majeed, who served as deputy prime minister and interior minister under former president Abdul Salam Aref.
