    [size=18]The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) warned that the new Coruna virus could cause the loss of more than 1.7 million jobs in the Arab world.

    "The region is likely to lose more than 1.7 million jobs in 2020, with the unemployment rate rising by 1.2 percentage points," the committee report said.







    The report added that "contrary to the effects of the global financial crisis in 2008, it is expected that employment opportunities will be affected in all sectors."

    The committee affirmed that "the services sector, which is the main source of employment opportunities in the Arab region, will be the most exposed to the effects of social divergence."
