The General Authority of Customs announced, on Wednesday, the revenues it achieved for the years 2019/2020 and the first half of 2021.
A statement by the authority, which Mawazine News received a copy of, stated that the revenues achieved in 2019 amounted to more than (one trillion and 56 billion dinars), while the revenues in 2020 amounted to more than (one trillion and 17 billion dinars), with a decrease of (39 billion dinars).
The head of the General Customs Authority, Shaker Mahmoud Hussein, stated that the customs revenues for the first half of this year 2021 amounted to more than (526 billion dinars), while the revenues for the same period last year were more than (387 billion dinars), with an increase of more than (139). billion dinars), after the improvement of economic conditions and the return of commercial activities.
The authority confirmed that it is proceeding with an effective reform program that matches what has been achieved by the General Tax Authority, as the authority’s capabilities and the ceiling of its financial and economic impact will be raised through the application of tools starting from automation and the application of the Skoda system to legislative and administrative reforms, and control and audit procedures, and through partnership with dealers with and outside the authority, from International organizations and institutions and a qualitative leap in customs work.
