Today, Wednesday, the Parliament’s Committee on Culture, Tourism and Antiquities recommended four measures to advance the tourism situation, while revealing efforts to amend laws in the interest of investors .
The head of the committee, Samia al-Ghallab, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the committee urged the Tourism and Antiquities Authority in the Ministry of Culture, during multiple meetings, to open the investment field for the two sectors, facilitate the work of investors, and overcome the obstacles facing their work, while reducing the procedures that repel the investment process."
She added that "the committee approached the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to activate the decision regarding the advancement of the tourism reality."
She pointed out that "the committee seeks to amend laws that are in the interest of investors in archaeological and tourist areas," noting that "Iraq has thousands of sites that deserve to advance their reality."
The Committee on Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the House of Representatives discussed earlier, with the Tourism Authority of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, tourism investments and how to activate them, and ways to increase financial revenues to support the state treasury.
