Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee revealed, on Saturday, the reason for the objection of some political parties to the sports clubs law, while confirming that Parliament will complete voting on the law in the next session.
Committee Chairman Abbas Aliwi told Shafaq News Agency, "The House of Representatives previously voted on 16 articles of the Sports Clubs Law, and the remaining 13 articles of the law will be voted on in next Monday's session."
He added that "there is political interference from well-known personalities who tried to transfer the Clubs Law to the next parliamentary session due to the objection of some sports club presidents to the article of dual positions and limiting the presidency of the club to only two terms."
He pointed out that "the objections of the political blocs and members of Parliament were also to the sponsorship and investment of clubs and the ownership of sports facilities by the club and investors."
And Aliwi, "The Youth and Sports Committee met with the heads of the political blocs, their representatives, and members of parliament, and stressed the importance of voting on the clubs law at the nearest session and not to transfer the law to the next parliamentary session."
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives held a session on the first of last July to vote on the Sports Clubs Law, but parliamentary blocs objected to some articles of the law and withdrew from the session, causing a breach of the quorum.
A parliamentary source told Shafaq News Agency, at the time, that deputies from different political blocs withdrew and left the session hall, indicating that the number of deputies present in the hall does not exceed 150 deputies.
Before and after this session, the House of Representatives held several sessions to vote on the law, but the objections of some political blocs prevented this, and some blocs demanded that the law be transferred to the next parliamentary session.

Parliamentary Sports: Parliament will complete voting on the clubs law next Monday
