[size=45]The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee announced that the Health Insurance Law has been in force since last August.
Committee member Hassan Khalati told “Al-Sabah”: “The committee met in a previous period with all concerned parties, medical unions, pharmacists, the Health Insurance Authority and its branches, and the Health Insurance Fund in order to start implementing the procedures of the law, which is one of the most important laws approved by the House of Representatives.”
And he indicated that “the law has been in force since last August, and the results of the application will be clear in February of the next 2022,” explaining that “there are stages in applying the law, starting with the employees’ segments, then the retirees, and then the other segments of society, and there are segments that are excluded from paying the bills. Conditional fees in the law, which are the poor class, people with special needs and social care, by relying on data registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
He pointed out that "the Health Insurance Law is one of the distinguished laws after the Ministry of Health took upon itself the implementation of this law, and the Insurance Authority was formed with all its members from the ministries (Planning, Finance, Labor and Social Affairs), the Syndicate of Physicians, Pharmacists, Dentists, Workers, the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and other specialized experts." .
Khalati indicated that “the law will pass through three procedural stages; The first includes the registration of employees exclusively in an obligatory manner, and all citizens voluntarily.” He continued, “The law will help provide health services to citizens that are better than what exists now.[/size]
