Today, Thursday, independent MP Basem Khashan confirmed the existence of a parliamentary movement aimed at tightening control over food prices in Iraqi markets.
Khashan told Al-Nabaa Agency that "the coming days will witness the hosting of the competent government agencies, to monitor the prices of foodstuffs in the Iraqi markets, especially after they witnessed a significant increase, amid the absence of any real supervisory role over this rise."
