An upcoming meeting of independents determines their position on Al-Sadr's call

The independent representatives intend to hold a session in Baghdad during the next two days to determine their position on the invitation of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, at a time when expectations indicate that most of them will participate in the session to elect the president of the republic.
A spokesman for the Manar Al-Obaidi Extension Movement said, in a statement to Al-Mada, that "independents are in front of open possibilities, and they will not stand with one party to harm the other, but rather they are with the public interest."
Al-Obaidi added, "The general trend is towards attending the presidential election session, but the success of this session depends on the nature of political dialogues and the possibility of achieving a quorum."
Independent MP Hamid Al-Shiblawi agrees with Al-Obeidi that "the presence of independent representatives in the parliament session does not mean that they are going with the tripartite alliance."
Al-Shiblawy pointed out that “the parliamentary work requires members of Parliament to attend, because the people elected them for this, and not to disrupt political life and subject everything to consensus.”
He pointed out that "the quorum will be determined by the session, and it is not possible to expect who will be present, but the independent representatives with the completion of the process of electing the three presidencies, regardless of the names, in order to exercise their role in oversight and legislation."
On the other hand, independent MP Hassan Arab talks about “the desire of independent representatives to hold a meeting in which they will discuss the issue of attending the presidential election session and inviting the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr.”
It is expected that "these representatives will come up with a unified position that will be announced before the date of the session scheduled for next Saturday."
The other independent MP, Salah Al-Zini, promised that "next Saturday's session will be pivotal, and that some of the independents may not attend the session and support the coordination framework."
He noted, "The information available to us indicates that there are more than 130 deputies, including independents, who will not attend the session, and these constitute more than the blocking third."
Al-Zayni confirmed what was said by Arabs, that "the independent deputies will hold a session during the next two days in Baghdad to come up with a final decision to deal with the situation regarding this session."
In addition, political expert Ahmed Al-Abyad stated, “Al-Sadr’s invitation to the independent representatives to attend the parliament session, perhaps due to his feeling that some of them might join the coordination framework team.”
Al-Abyad added, "What Al-Sadr talked about might encourage some of these independents to attend, and thus achieve the quorum needed for the presidential election session."
The leader of the Sadrist movement had invited the independent representatives to participate in the session to elect the president of the republic, and then form the government of the political majority.
