    Today, Saturday, Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, inspected the ministry’s effort working at the Al-Tharthar Floating Pumping Station in Anbar Governorate / Fallujah District,  to follow up on the progress of work there.
    The minister said in a statement, "This project is one of the important projects adopted by the ministry within solutions to address the water scarcity that has been going on for three consecutive seasons by installing floating pumps to take advantage of the reservoirs of Lake Tharthar to boost imports in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and increase expenditures in them," stressing "the government's support." The federal government is  represented by the Prime Minister and the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Ministry 's directions  in dealing with water scarcity.
    The minister directed "to increase the automatic and technical effort working on the project in order to complete it as soon as possible and within the required specifications," considering this "work one of the priorities of the work of the ministry's formations at the present time, praising at the same time the efforts of the project workers for their diligent work and their keenness to implement the work within The specifications in force, as well as the role of the security forces and the Popular Mobilization in supporting the Ministry’s staff working in all governorates.”
    It is worth mentioning that the project of constructing the floating Tharthar pumping station includes digging a channel of 2,200 km length inside Tharthar Lake with the removal of sediments from the pump basin at a level of 40  and to a level of 34 with the continuation of strengthening the plug of the floating pumps basin as well as removing the sediments from the main channel of the Tharthar regulator using specialized mechanisms Multi-purpose in order to prepare the site for the landing of the floating pumps for the purpose of benefiting from the reservoir of Lake Tharthar in increasing the expenditures in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
