Shafaq News/ A Kuwaiti newspaper revealed, on Monday, that Kuwaiti diplomats "convinced" China to adopt the clause of Iraq's commitment to Kuwait's sovereignty and non-violation of international resolutions and agreements.

The Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Rai, quoted a source who revealed some of the scenes of what happened, explaining that the Kuwaiti diplomatic team participating in the ministerial meetings that accompanied the Gulf-Chinese summit held in Riyadh on December 9 made extensive efforts to convince the Chinese diplomatic team of the need to include this. clause.
The newspaper stated, quoting the source, that the Kuwaiti diplomats explained to their Chinese counterparts the details of the file, especially in terms of Kuwait's commitment to international agreements, in return for recording Iraqi violations during the past few months in the territorial waters.
The source revealed that "the Kuwaiti-Chinese talks lasted more than 3 hours, and it was not easy to persuade China to adopt this clause, especially in light of its policy of non-interference in conflicts between countries or the internal affairs of other countries," noting that it "concluded to support respect for the sovereignty of Kuwait after being convinced of the validity of the Kuwaiti position, after explaining the situation to it, and of the need for Iraq to take serious steps to complete the file of demarcating the maritime borders.
On the ninth of December, the Gulf Cooperation Council said in its final statement that it stresses "the importance of Iraq's commitment to the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait and non-violation of international resolutions and agreements, especially Security Council Resolution No. 833 regarding the demarcation of the borders between the two countries and the agreement to regulate maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah." concluded between the two countries and deposited with the United Nations.
Kuwait said that a clause in the final statement of the Gulf summit stresses the importance of Iraq's commitment to Kuwait's sovereignty and non-violation of international resolutions and agreements, as it is a natural matter in view of the solidarity between the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, but the confirmation of the Gulf-Chinese summit is the same and the call on Iraq to complete the demarcation of borders. The navy with Kuwait is an unusual matter, and it constitutes a success for Kuwaiti diplomacy.
Iraqi parliament member Alia Nassif called on the Iraqi government to respond to the statement of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council, which is usually "biased towards Kuwait" and carries "the worst forms of hypocrisy."
