Shafaq News/ The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, condemned, on Wednesday, the statements he described as hostile to his country, which were made by the German Foreign Minister, Analina Baerbock, in Baghdad.
Kanaani said, in statements reported by official Iranian media, that "it was expected that the German Foreign Minister would apologize first and foremost for the previous shameful performance of the government of this country towards the Iranian and Iraqi people, instead of trying to hide the history of her country's crimes in supporting Saddam's regime against Iran and the heinous crime." And the shameful act of arming the Baath regime with chemical weapons to be used against defenseless Iranian and Iraqi soldiers and citizens by making unfounded allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He referred to the undeniable role of Iran in supporting the integrity and territorial integrity of Iraq and respecting the sovereignty of this country, adding that "at the present time, a large number of armed separatist and terrorist groups, whose hands are stained with the blood of Iranian and Iraqi civilians, have taken refuge in Germany."
Kanaani added, "The German Foreign Minister's statements against Iran are an indication of the continuation of the German government's supportive approach to armed terrorists and separatists against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the continuation of fruitless efforts to harm relations between the two neighboring countries, Iran and Iraq."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added, "The countries of the region will never forget the performance of some Western countries, including Germany, in kindling the flames of war and supporting the tyrants and dictators who ignited the fire of war."
German Foreign Minister Analina Baerbock said during a visit to Baghdad on Tuesday, nearly twenty years after the US-led invasion of Iraq, that Iranian missile attacks across the Iraqi border are unacceptable and endanger civilians and regional stability.
"The Iranian regime's missile attacks not only reflect its reckless and brutal suppression of its people, but also endanger people's lives and the stability of the entire region in order to cling to power," she added.

She also said during a joint press conference with her Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, "This is unacceptable and poses a threat to the entire region."
