    The Iranian "Mehr" agency reported, quoting the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, on Sunday, that a memorandum of understanding regarding operational procedures for the Shalamcheh-Basra railway project was signed at the Iranian consulate in Basra.
    The agency stated, "During this trip, which took place in line with the understanding between the ministers of roads, urban development, and transportation in the two countries, after holding a joint meeting with the technical and political teams of the two parties at the Shalamcheh border, the CEOs of Iran and Iraq railways inspected the latest developments in the Shalamcheh railway project - Basra.
    She added, "After the negotiations that took place at the Iranian Consulate in Basra and lasted for about 6 hours, the two parties agreed on the exact route of the railway line from Shalamcheh to the Arvand River and from the river to the relevant train station. The road construction map was also signed by the technical representatives of the two countries." .
