The head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, announced today, Friday, the launch of the electoral campaign for the coalition’s candidates for the provincial council elections, while noting that the facts are clear for those who want reform and construction.
Al-Maliki said in his speech during the launch of the electoral campaign for the State of Law coalition candidates for the provincial council elections, “The facts have shown to those who want to reform and build that the constitutional entitlement must exist through holding elections.”
He added, "The decision to abolish the previous provincial councils left a vacuum in the management system of the provinces and the state and created many problems from which we are still suffering."
He pointed out that "the stability of the governorates leads to the stability of the state when it is based on governorates that play their role in providing services to citizens."
Al-Maliki continued: "There are those who did not realize the danger of the governorates remaining without councils."
