    Today, Monday (December 18, 2023), the leader of the Azm Alliance, Najat Al-Taie, revealed the exhaustion of state departments due to “election fever,” while indicating that half of the projects during the year 2023 were transferred during the two-week period preceding the elections.
    Al-Taie said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani issued 3 direct directives to prevent the exploitation of the state’s capabilities and resources in the electoral movement, but the truth is that everything is permitted by the influential forces that dominate the decision-making process in some governorates to the point that there is “The attrition of constituencies is the largest in all electoral cycles.”
    She added, “The total number of projects that were referred or completed during the past two weeks is equivalent to half of what was accomplished during 2023, in a way that expresses the great exploitation of the state’s capabilities and the referral of some projects without any economic benefit because their goal is nothing but electoral gain.”
    Al-Taie pointed out that “not granting early leave to every nominated employee is a mistake that the Sudanese government bears responsibility for, because there are those who exploited their power in the government and promoted themselves through state institutions and departments in various ways.”
    She continued, “The technical malfunctions that accompanied the work of the equipment for counting, sorting, and sending the results are worrying on the day of the special poll and may lead to a major political problem if they are not contained during the coming hours,” noting that “the matter may be critical if it is repeated in the general vote.” Because it violates the principle of transparency and raises the concerns of all lists about their votes.”
