    The Supreme Council for Youth approved, today, Thursday, the launch of the national initiative to raise awareness of social security.
    The Prime Minister's Media Office, received by "Baghdad Today", stated that Al-Sudani "chaired, today, Thursday, the regular meeting of the Supreme Council for Youth, during which the executive procedures for the decisions and directives approved by the Council in its previous meetings were discussed, and the percentages of their completion by the ministries and relevant authorities. He also witnessed the approval of what was stated in the minutes of the National Youth Programs Competition Committee, and the directive of the Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations, to complete all procedures for granting financial amounts."
    He added that "the Council discussed a group of projects and programs that contribute to developing the capabilities of young people and encouraging them to be creative and innovative. It was approved to launch the National Youth Research Competition, which aims to encourage them to conduct scientific research and innovation, within specific fields that can be used later. It targets young people from the age of (18) years, and also provides them with the opportunity to compete for valuable prizes."
    The statement continued, "In the context of the government's efforts to combat the scourge of drugs and psychotropic substances, approval was given to launch the national initiative to raise awareness of the harms of drugs and psychotropic substances. It is a major campaign implemented by (10) thousand young people from youth ambassadors, national teams of the Supreme Council for Youth, and volunteer organizations and teams. One million young people will be targeted:
    He explained that "with the aim of encouraging creativity and innovation among young people in the field of engineering, the launch of the National Youth Engineering Design Competition was approved, which will provide participants with the opportunity to showcase their skills in designing innovative and useful engineering projects in the field of architecture."
    He explained that "the Council approved the Ministry of Youth and Sports launching the Creativity Medal for young innovators, and approved the executive program for the annual plan for the Youth and Sports Directorates. The Council also approved launching the National Initiative for Social Security Awareness, and the National Initiative for Electronic Payment Awareness."
    He pointed out that "the proposals of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities supporting the youth category were also discussed, and it was agreed to fix the condition of appointing (2) tourism and antiquities graduates, who have obtained a tourist guide certificate from the Tourism Authority when granting or renewing licenses to travel and tourism companies."
    The statement pointed out that "in order to support the productions of young artists, enhance their economic resources and stimulate their creative energies, approval was given to approach tourist facilities in the mixed or private sector and travel and tourism companies, for the purpose of purchasing artistic paintings from the Department of Public Arts affiliated with the Ministry of Culture."
