Opening of 4 vital projects in Baghdad

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani inaugurated yesterday, Monday, via closed-circuit television, 3 vital projects serving the capital, Baghdad. The first is the Baghdad City Entrance Project, from the direction of the governorates (Diyala - Kirkuk), after its rehabilitation and maintenance according to standard specifications for highways, and the Nahrawan Water Project, southeast of Baghdad, with a production capacity of 4,000 m3/hour, which is a project that has been stalled since 2012, and the bridges group project on the Army Canal east of Baghdad, linking the Jamila area towards Jihad Street (Bab Al-Muadham), as part of the first package of projects to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad. The Minister of Construction, Benkin Rikani, also inaugurated the southern entrance project to the capital (Baghdad - Bismayah ).
The group of bridges constructed on the Army Canal east of Baghdad :
connects the Jamila area towards Al-Jihad Street (Bab Al-Muatham )
within the projects of the first package to relieve traffic congestion in the capital Baghdad.
It includes 3 bridges, two bridges on both sides of the Army Canal and a round-trip bridge between the Jamila area towards Al-Jihad Street .
The southern entrance project to Baghdad from the Bismayah side :
the main road with a length of (14) km for the two-way lanes.
The road was expanded from (10) m to become (16) m on both sides.
The road was fully furnished.
Two service roads were constructed along the road and (4) overpasses.
The total length of the main and service road was (28) km.
The four projects:
The Baghdad City Entrance Project, from the side of the governorates of (Diyala - Kirkuk ):
Rehabilitation and maintenance according to standard specifications for expressways,
expansion from 10m to 16m,
extending 20 km on each side,
a side island with a width of 11m,
three bridges to eliminate irregular turns,
two bridges for pedestrian crossings
Nahrawan Water Project, southeast of Baghdad :
Production capacity of 4,000 m3/hour
with a total area of 29 dunums.
Projects that have been stalled since 2012
provide drinking water to 350,000 people.
Addresses water scarcity in the areas of Nahrawan, Karguliya
, 9 Nisan and the villages of Nahrawan.
