Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Qusai al-Sihail, discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Masato Takauka, upgrading the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tokyo as well as discussing the political situation in Iraq and the region.
A statement by Sihail’s media office reported on Tuesday “Sihail received at his office in Baghdad, the Japanese Ambassador for Iraq where they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and means of developing the commercial and economic relations between both countries.”
Sihail referred to “The importance of the Japanese companies’ participation in rebuilding Iraq for Japan’s distinct potentials and techniques which made it in forefront of the advanced countries in fields of technology, industry, construction and reconstruction.”
“For his part, the Japanese Ambassador hoped the Iraqi-Japanese relations to witness more development over the period ahead where there are many commonalities between the Iraqi and Japanese peoples which can be sustained through elevating the cooperation between both of the countries,” the statement concluded.
