    The Ministry of Commerce announced its willingness to stop the import of next year, sunflower oil, attributed it to changes in the domestic production increase under the government's plan to provide basic foodstuffs.
    A statement of the ministry and agency of our economy News received a copy of it, from the Director General of the General Company for Foodstuff Trading in the Ministry of Commerce Kassem Hammoud was quoted as saying: "The government will sign a contract to buy sunflower oil with Union Company for Food Industries of the Iraqi private sector, which will provide the ministry textured sugar as well." .
    He explained, "We have achieved the target with respect to material to be sugar from domestic production," adding, "At the beginning of 2017, the Ministry of Commerce, as it did for sugar, will depend on the production of vegetable oils produced locally."

    True.  We only get a small part of the picture in Iraq.  This is part of the agricultural initiative that Abadi started last fall.  It encompassed more than just sunflower  seeds.


    Iraq was a net exporter of grains before the embargo.  It will be easy for them to become food self sufficient.  


    The greater point is to reduce the demand for imports and selling dollars consistent with this article:
