The establishment of three companies in the Ministry of Electricity worth $ 5 billion

"Economy News" received documents relating to the approval of the Council of Ministers to establish three public companies belonging to the Ministry of Electricity worth $ 5 billion (6 trillion dinars).
The first is (the General Company for the transfer of electric power / northern region) with a capital of 2.2 trillion dinars. The scope of its work will be in Nineveh, Kirkuk, Salahuddin, Diyala and Anbar provinces.
The company aims to support the national economy and the development of industrial production in the field of transmission of electricity from production stations to transfer stations. It will operate and maintain power transmission lines and sell and purchase energy from neighboring countries as well as other works.
The second is the General Company for the transfer of electric power (central region) with a capital of more than 3 trillion dinars. The scope of its work will be in the governorates of Baghdad and Wasit.
The company will do a number of tasks including investing cash surpluses and contributing to the joint stock companies or participating with them in the execution of works related to its objectives.The Company is authorized to conduct all legal transactions and to conclude contracts that it deems appropriate for its business.
The third company is the General Company for the transfer of electric power / the southern region.With a capital of 852.1 billion dinars. The company will be headquartered in Basra province and the scope of its work will be limited to the province of Basra, Dhi Qar, Muthanna and Maysan.
The company will sell electrical power from neighboring countries and participate with Arab and foreign companies and institutions to carry out works related to the company's goals inside Iraq as well as other tasks.
